RETURN OF NIBIRU
Rating: 5.0⭐(Interview of the week awarded for achieving 5 STARS!)
Return of Nibiru, (written and directed by Sebastien French) is a beautifully made CGI film based on the legends surrounding the Annunaki (Earth inhabitants of millions of years ago) who live on planet Nibiru. The story focuses on eight characters, a Japanese businessman who has spent all his life at work and is alien to his family; A content Arab woman devoted to her family and writing; Twin brothers separated by birth adopted to two families, one in Brazil and the other, in Russia; A female doctor in India dedicated to curing cancer; An American motivational speaker with a great following and her popular show; and a well respected and spiritual African Chief in Kenya, and beacon in the country.
We are introduced to the lives of the characters immediately leading to the announcement of the imminent Nibiru cataclysm. These scenes of each character are solitary prologues. Initially in denial, each character eventually comes face to face with the end of day's realization. As an audience, we find ourselves internalizing their dilemma and sense of loss as they quietly and some angrily ponder not only the meaning of life but what their life means. We sense the effect of different cultures and approaches to those very questions, particularly through the twins. We experience the extreme cycles of emotions of the characters as they near their impending doom. The score throughout the film entrances the audience and intuitively reflects the emotions and internal conflicts of each character as they come to terms with the inevitable. The money shot in the film is their unified acceptance of the inevitable as eight separate and vastly different individuals become one.

I used to be a guest on this website however that interview really got me to sign up to MYSYFY and join the sci-fi film community for good! As an Indian woman myself, I have always been told to follow traditional feminine and cultural stereotypes passed down by the hegemony. However, the director of 'Return of Nibiru's' words reached me and allowed me to see my own identity in an entirely different light and gave me the courage to develop my passion for science fiction films! P.s Is there any chance I can reach out to you to ask more about the director of 'Return of Nibiru' or possibly have her contact information? THANK YOU for representing us minorities!!👼🏿😍🤩
The performances of the actors were top-notch, making the characters so realistic and relatable despite being in a completely different world.😍😍
These movies were an incredible mix of action, suspense, and emotion. They had everything that a science fiction fan could ever want! 🎬
